This is one of two styles Carnival Mask are traditional carved into. The animal-shaped variety, often associated with a celebration of life, is carved from a Lantern Fruit cut in half vertically. Each large lantern fruit will yield two of these masks. While many are meant to be a nondescript depictions of animals, this one somewhat resembles a Koronok. The alternative style is the skull-shaped variety. These masks were said to have warded off the Blight's plague, though nowadays it's not known if this is true, or simply legend passed down by those who came before us.

 Even adult Korso find the taste of this traditional herbal tea bracing or even unpleasant-- few ever acquire a taste for it, and when served for Winterspring festivities, the flavour isn't diluted with juices, milks or sweeteners. However, the purpose of the drink is not to be enjoyed, but to help fortify the young so that they grow to be healthy and strong. Many count down the number of full, steaming cups left until they're considered old enough to decline the drink with a longing determination.

The chewy crusts of these seed-filled treasures are made by using alkaline water and slightly acidic sugar syrup to make a dough that isn't too sticky or weak to handle being pressed into thin walls against a form. The bright colours are achieved with the help of natural dyes, and the glossy finish is achieved by brushing a little extra sugar syrup on top after demolding the cakes, which helps trap in moisture for an even more enduring treat.

This oiled hardwood paddle is used to shape the dough shells for traditional Korso Seed Cakes. While the most traditional fillings use a mix of whole and ground seeds, fats and dried berries, there are myriad more modern or fillings that can be found year-round. Offerings are often influenced by the food cultures of the locale serving the offering.

This ornate half mask is adorned with Skyfire Stone inclusions. The tall spikes of the crown catch the jewels light, reflecting it well to onlookers. When night falls, thespians, singers and dancers don their Skyfire jewelry to mimic the stars above.

This multi-layered necklace was crafted by the Haddu speically for the Midnight Ensemble, a traditional performance of Nevriset B'Xhadari. It's flat golden chains are broken up by the Skyfire stones beaded between them. They are polished to glitter fiercely even when viewed from the darkest caves.

When fixed to a wrist, ankle or tail the beads slide past one another, as if to orbit the wearer. The Skyfire jewels embedded into the solid gold band make it certainly hard to miss. The light given off is dazzling, and when combined with Haddu's dance, it can make the preformer look as if they embody part of the night sky.

A hollowed-out Lantern Fruit adorned with carved constellations that emit a soft glow. The tradition of carving these gourds was created when the Korso and Haddu worked together during the war. The Korso showed the Haddu how to light the way with the fruit's glow, while the Haddu showed the Korso how to carve star maps into the fruit. Today carvings are considered decorational. 

Gourds are hollowed out, dried, and fashioned into wind chimes in every size and shape. Their woody texture creates a pleasant, hearty, noise when they clack together and they bring a beautiful aesthetic as decoration throughout the carnival or at home. Alurizians who enjoy the sound tend to hang them year-round.

This autumnal garland consists of foraged leaves, nuts, twigs, and other woodland flora. These decorative pieces are hung throughout carnival stalls, as well as in homes. On the conclusion of the holiday, Alurizans will drape the garlands around trees in forests and cities to provide food and shelter for local animals; while any remnants will decompose and provide fertilizer for the land. These garlands celebrate the idea of Root Logic through their foraged ornaments that eventually return to the earth. It serves as a reminder to Alurizans both young and old that respecting the land is of utmost importance.
